This
first ever Kazarian Family Reunion, was organized to bring together
the families of four brothers. Born sons of Bedros Khachaturian
in the small village of Karakala, outside of Kars, they were prominent
members of the community as they were involved in both cattle
and wheat production. Fleeing the genocide the family was dispersed
throughout the Americas, most settled in the Los Angeles area.
During the immigration process the family took the name of Kazarian
from the third brother, Kazar. The family started out in the rubbish
business and moved to farming during the depression, and some
back to rubbish again after the depression. Keeping with tradition
many members of the family are still involved in those fields
today. We hope this reunion inspires all family members to appreciate
the hard work and sacrifices of the previous generations.
